THE ROAD TO WAR -

“The Great War” Ends…!

No one at all seemed to understand and to honestly realize…What the world went to war over? What was it all about? Why did World Leaders allow it to happen? What was it all for?
It seems to directly indicate that the World, the people, the warmongers, its Leaders, Politicians, War Officials from all Countries across the World, at that time seemed justified and wanted in all reality to “Go to War” it can be scrutinized by us today from the documentaries from all those years ago…”The World Wanted a War”, whatever the reason, or justification that prevailed, all of these officials had completely… No Idea that it would end in such a horrendous massacre of people in this the “New 20th Century”. In which they themselves had ushered in as the church bells rang out on the night of 31st December 1900, heralding a new age of peace, hope and prosperity for everyone….Never did they realize what was about the befall mankind soon to come!
But little did the World Leaders who had joined and took part in this “First World War” see ahead and realize that the seeds of the next war had already been planted and sown, even before “The Great War” had finally ended! It was finally the last day of this horrific, destructive, bloody war that had raged around the world for four long terrible years.
Artillery batteries all along the front lines continued to fire the last few remaining shells at the enemy positions on that cold morning in November, before the final cease-fire had been announced.
As the hour struck at 11.00 a.m. on 11th November 1918, the announcement was made…”The Great War” had ended, it was Armistice Day!
At long last the guns fell silent, the soldiers downed their weapons, and finally went home…But an unsettling peacefulness seemed to descend all across Europe.
As church bells rang out from every corner in many countries declaring the end of hostilities, more ferocious weapons of destruction were being designed and made by those ready to defend their homeland in preparation, just in case there was another possible conflict or some-one somewhere in a Foreign land decided to start another world war!

At the end of hostilities at 11.00am, 11th November, 1918, these were the estimated figures calculated of the casualties…

A total of…67, 438, 810 million troops around the world were mobilized.

An estimated figure of….8, 538, 315 were killed.

A total of…21, 219, 452 million were severely wounded.

A total of…7, 750, 919 million were missing or became prisoners of war.

A total of…1, 450, 000 million permanently disabled - loss of legs, arms and faces disfigured, shell shock.

It is also partly established that well over 150, 000 British soldiers would die from “Trench Foot”.

But later figures indicate that it was more likely that well over…10, 000, 000 were killed in battle deaths.

Many more were soon to become victims, apart from the horrific losses during “The Great War”…!

In 2016 it was calculated and re-estimated that nearly 15, 000, 000 were killed during “The First World War”

By October of 1918 the “Spanish Flu” pandemic swept across Europe, eventually spreading worldwide showing no mercy to anyone, infecting over one third of the World’s population estimated at that time to be over 500million people, eventually taking its death toll in killing within 6 months over…50, 000, 000 million deaths, this virulent pandemic would eventually kill well over 80 to over 100, 000, 000 million people!
This dreaded pandemic was certainly the beginning of man’s own demise from...1914 onwards!
The terrible tragedy here, was that there were more people killed by the “Spanish Flu” pandemic during 15 months in Europe alone, than by all the blood that was shed during the horrific slaughter of four years during “The First World War”…!

“The Great War” destroyed millions of people’s lives across the world not only the soldiers who finally came home, but civilians, and families. Those who were left behind were left to grieve for their loved ones, soon they would put their hope and their trust in the “League of Nations”, established in 1919, so that this newly formed - Peace Maker – with many nations signing the declaration for peace, would never allow another World War to ravage and destroy mankind ever again…!
Twenty years later all their talks, hopes, dreams, desires, peace – pacts, resolutions, and declarations, would come to an abrupt end, all of them full of absolute despair, as a far greater, more sadistic and horrific power of destruction and death would soon come beyond all mankind’s understanding and beyond their each and every ones belief!
A World War than could never be imagined by all mankind would again prevail on this earth...very soon!!!
