Travel
The nearest airport is Almeria, from here the drive to Cortijo
Grande is about 40 minutes, all but about 6 miles is Motorway
(amazingly traffic free). Alicante is a two hour drive again
on the same motorway.

Around
Almeira
is
the provincial capital with good shopping facilities, a large
picturesque harbour, a typical Spanish provincial town.
Turre
is our local village, friendly
people, typically Spanish. Plenty of bars, shops and restaurants.
Mojacar
is an old Moorish village perched high
on the hills and steeped in atmosphere, very interesting and
picturesque with many twisting streets and allyways.
Garrucha
a
small fishing village really worth a visit, relax while watching
the fishing boats return with their catch and auctioned on the
quay. Extensive street market on Fridays.
