The Club |
Edenbridge Rotary Club was founded in 1969 by local businessmen. We are a lively, friendly group that meet weekly for dinner, during which the main business of the Club is conducted.
Projects are discussed where we feel our combined energies will help bring about change for the better. These can often be straightforward fundraising affairs to help local community projects and those less fortunate. However, in lots of cases, the Club has got involved "hands-on", such as with a mentoring scheme for local youngsters considering their careers, or in providing an annual get together and entertainment for senior citizens in the town.
Our meetings are also a platform for many interesting and diverse speakers, all of whom are invited to come along to join us for a meal, after which they have the opportunity both to inform and entertain.
Partners are welcomed at many of these meetings and usually participate in the Club's social and fundraising activities. These are always enjoyable and have, over the years, sustained a really healthy team spirit within our Club, of which we are justifiably proud.

CLUB COUNCIL
Club Council meets monthly to steer the activities of the Club and to consider reports from the three sub-committees on matters falling within their respective areas of interest:
COMMUNITY SERVICE
picks up on needs identified within the local community which the Club may
be able to help by means of fundraising or service.
INTERNATIONAL
is involved with activities, including fundraising, designed to alleviate ill health, malnutrition and deprivation around the world. The Committee also spearheads communication with other overseas clubs.
CLUB SERVICE
deals with the administration and membership issues of the Club: the venue, catering arrangements, welfare of existing members and recruitment of others, the speaker programme and visits to other clubs.
EVERYONE HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON EACH COMMITTEE AND TO
HOLD OFFICE WITHIN THE CLUB
