Young people aged up to 18 years
old in Sevenoaks District now have their own information line to
help them find about events, places to go and advice specific to
people of this age group.
Sevenoaks District Council launched
'Youthline' on 12 December. The service is available by calling
01732 227137 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. An answerphone operates
at all other times.
Youthline can answer questions
on:
What's going on in the District
Places to go and hang out
How to get involved in a variety of local and national projects
Getting career advice
It also offers advice about
who is the best person to call for more serious problems including:
Drugs and alcohol misuse
Sex and relationships
Pregnancy
Bullying
Homelessness
Abuse
The Youthline database is also
available on the Council's website www.sevenoaks.gov.uk in the 'Council
Publications' section or via a link in the 'Young People' section.
Youthline has been developed
as part of the new Young People's Action Plan also launched today.
It has evolved as a result of talking to young people all over the
District, finding out how much information is available to them
and the type of information they would like to access.
