Dear
Re: Eden Valley
pupils
The Eden Valley
Parents' Action Group is now known as the Eden Valley Parents' Support
Group.
We continue
to try to persuade KCC to cover the cost of new uniforms for each
child transferring from Eden Valley School and to ensure KCC meet
their obligations to all Edenbridge children in terms of meeting
the fares of those additional children who now qualify for free
fares as a result of Eden Valley School closing.
You should know
that parents feel very strongly they should not have to pay anything
for new uniforms and kit as (meaning no offence) they have been
obliged to send their children to your school not through choice.
KCC are declining
to pay more than £50 which is derisory. We have requested
a more sympathetic re-consideration of this by them.
You will be
aware some parents cannot afford the cost particularly at Bradbourne
where some £300 is likely. Accordingly you may find some parents
send their children to your School in their Eden Valley uniform
in September unless the KCC change their harsh decision.
Your sincerely
Stephen Marshall
