The
Facts

Did
you know that: -
-
If Eden Valley closes the two designated schools for the majority
of Eden Valley children are The Bradbourne Girl's School, and
The Wildernesse School for Boys, both in Sevenoaks - ten miles
away?
-
By closing Eden Valley School, Primary School parents will not
have a choice of Schools to send their children to? The designated
Schools will be in Sevenoaks.
-
In attending Bradbourne and the Wildernesse Schools Edenbridge
children will be discriminated against because they will not be
able to go to the 'After School Clubs' as we believe there will
be no transport provided to take them home if they stay late?
-
In attending Sevenoaks schools Edenbridge children having longer
journeys and homework to do will not have time to attend after
school organisations/clubs in Edenbridge?
- The
LEA are going to spend £1million pounds to up-grade both
Bradbourne School and the Wildernesse School in order to accommodate
Eden Valley children - (they hope to raise it from the Eden Valley
site)?
-
It will cost the LEA approximately £85000 for the first
year to transport the current pupils to Bradbourne and the Wildernesse
Schools?
-
The LEA will not fund any transport cost for children whose parents
have already chosen to send them elsewhere?
-
33 children applied to come to Eden Valley School next September
as their first choice, but many children have not had their first
choices of Schools in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells accepted due
to oversubscribed Schools? So more children could come to Eden
Valley School.
-
It may be difficult for children at Eden Valley School with special
educational needs to adjust to the new schools and the long travel
to and from them?
