Healthy Fairtrade Lunch Box Competition

 

 

Who can enter?

 

  1. Anyone of Primary School age

 

 

What do you have to do?

 

  1. Research what Fairtrade products are available in local supermarkets – look for the Fairtrade symbol (see top right of this sheet)
  2. Think about what makes a healthy lunch box
  3. (Think about how you might use as little packaging as possible)
  4. Plan a healthy lunch box that uses as many Fairtrade items as possible (it must contain at least three)
  5. Describe in detail the contents of your lunch box on a sheet of A4 paper making sure that you say which items are Fairtrade
  6. Put your name, age and school (or other organisation that you belong to) on the back of the sheet
  7. Give the sheet to your teacher or leader by Friday 2nd March

 

 

What happens then?

 

  1. The entries will be judged by the Catering Manager of the CARE Kent Community taking into consideration i) use of Fairtrade products, ii) healthiness and

     iii) imagination

  1. There will be prizes for the winning designs in the infant and junior age groups which will be presented at a ceremony to be held at the Co-op on Saturday 10th March at 11am.
  2. There will be runners up prizes of some Fairtrade “goodies” for the 2 other best designs in each age group
