Healthy Fairtrade Lunch Box Competition
Who can enter?
- Anyone of Primary School age
What do you have to do?
- Research what Fairtrade products are available in local supermarkets – look for the Fairtrade symbol (see top right of this sheet)
- Think about what makes a healthy lunch box
- (Think about how you might use as little packaging as possible)
- Plan a healthy lunch box that uses as many Fairtrade items as possible (it must contain at least three)
- Describe in detail the contents of your lunch box on a sheet of A4 paper making sure that you say which items are Fairtrade
- Put your name, age and school (or other organisation that you belong to) on the back of the sheet
- Give the sheet to your teacher or leader by Friday 2nd March
What happens then?
- The entries will be judged by the Catering Manager of the CARE Kent Community taking into consideration i) use of Fairtrade products, ii) healthiness and
iii) imagination
- There will be prizes for the winning designs in the infant and junior age groups which will be presented at a ceremony to be held at the Co-op on Saturday 10th March at 11am.
- There will be runners up prizes of some Fairtrade “goodies” for the 2 other best designs in each age group
