The Souls brothers - The ultimate sacrifice
 

It is undeniable how any mother could overcome such losses and sorrow, and could have kept going. The suffering and deep heartache must have been unbearable for Annie Souls at losing three of her most beautiful of sons.

Annie and William Souls would suffer more tragic losses as another two telegrams arrived at their door within one week, notifying them of the loss of their fourth and fifth sons…

 
Albert Ernest was buried in the Strand Military Cemetery in Belgium
Alfred Ernest Souls who was buried in the Strand Military Cemetary in Belgium
Private 21525, Alfred Ernest Souls…Aged 31…of the 11th Cheshire Regiment was killed in action on April 20th 1918 ….He is buried in the Strand Military Cemetery, Belgium.
 

These two brothers Alfred and Arthur were twins born one hour apart, and in a matter of five days both had been killed.

 
Arthur William is buried in Hangard Communal Cemetery. France. Arthur William Souls is buried in Hangard Communal Cemetery. France.
Lance Corporal 21683, Arthur William Souls…Aged 31…of the 16th Cheshire Regiment was killed in action on 25th April 1918…Awarded the Military Medal for his Bravery.He is buried in Hangard Communal Cemetery. France.
