This short briefing note is to confirm that Kent County Cricket Club will be staging the planting of its new Lime Tree at 11.00 am on Tuesday 8 March 2005 at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury. In anticipation of a sizeable press contingent, it would be helpful to know whether or not you will be sending representation.
In advance of next Tuesday’s event, I can further confirm that the new tree will be in place on the day and that the formalities on 8 March will be of a ceremonial nature. I would be grateful for any advance publicity you can give to this occasion and in doing so indicate that members of the public are welcome and that the Club’s Pavilion will be open. I would also be most grateful if you could advise your “audience” that parking on the ground will be extremely limited, due to the recent adverse weather conditions.
