Edenbridge and District Twinners Thankyou

Dear Friends

On behalf of the Chairman and Committee I wish to thank you for your invaluable support during the previous year, whether you have been able to help by acting as hosts to our French visitors, coming along to an event or joining in a visit to MSA. I hope that all enjoyed those activities of 2010.

At the AGM we said goodbye to some of our committee members including Geoff Darrington, as Chairman, Bob Orridge as Treasurer, along with Val Bantin and Sylvia Orridge. Thanks are due to them for their work over the recent years although Bob is still one of our Representatives from the Town Council along with Mark Robson. Peter Stevens took on the role of Chairman, Roy Turner of Treasurer and Elizabeth Howarth of Vice Chairman. A warm welcome to Helen Vaughan who has joined us and, with Richard Evemy, Carole Feakes and me, make up the rest of this year’s committee. It is a smaller group than usual but hopefully with your help we shall be able to continue arranging the various
activities, including the recent additional local ones such as the meal in January and the Garden Party, although obviously our core efforts are the events with the French.

This newsletter includes some reviews of this past year's events, and other items so hopefully you will find it of interest but is primarily to let you know about the main plans for 2011 and as we would like to encourage you to support at least one of the exchanges this year, please consider reserving the dates in your calendar for 2011 NOW! You’re welcome to all, of course, but knowing how busy life is we’re always pleased to have what participation you can make as it keeps things interesting for all!

Your new Chairman, Peter Stevens would like to welcome you to the new season of Twinning with Mont St. Aignan and look out for the next edition of Kent Life magazine when he may be mentioned representing EDTA in an article about Town Twinning in the county. To contact Peter, phone 01732 865634 or email: pws@hotmail.co.uk
