Tonbridge Castle is an 11th century Norman motte and bailey castle (reputedly one of Englands finest examples) over looking the River Medway, set in landscaped gardens and picturesque grounds.

Feel the experience of living in the past, using our interactive displays and audio tour. We have put together a vivid recreation of life 700 years ago using life size figures, and sounds creating a fascinating insight into castle life.

Help out in the guard room as you hear the gatehouse come under attack from a seige tower and battering ram, visit the armourer's stores and then take supper with the guards.
