Glenn Kelvin Jones is wanted by the police after failing to appear at
Worcester Crown Court charged with four rapes, seven indecent assaults and
two counts of making indecent photographs.
The incidents are historical and occurred between 1984 and 2001. Judge
Mott issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Jones today, Tuesday 16
November 2004.
It is believed that he may be in France possibly in the Paris area,
although he could be anywhere in either the UK, France or Spain.
Jones is a white man, his date of birth is the 15th of October 1955
(49yrs), he is about 5ft 8 inches tall (173cm) and is of medium build. He
has receding grey hair, a scar above his eyebrow and has green/blue eyes.
He is a talkative man who makes friends easily. He was clean shaven,
however he has had a beard and moustache in the past. He has worked in
the past as a plumber and may be carrying out odd jobs to earn some money.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Cullen explained, "We were aware that
Jones went missing on Tuesday 9 November and we have been liaising with
West Midlands Police since then as he went missing from an address in Clay
Lane, Langley, Oldbury.
"We have been carrying out extensive enquiries to locate him since then.
We issued an all ports warning and had already taken his passport off him
so if he has managed to get abroad he has done so with a false passport.
"We have issued his photograph to all police forces, customs and excise
and interpol and now we are appealing to the public in the UK and in
France to help us find him.
"It may be that he has tried to disguise himself in some way and we have
issued three photographs of Jones, clean shaven, with a goatee beard and
with a full beard.
"We would urge people not to approach Jones but to contact their local
police station if they know where he is."
