September 2004 Edenbridge Crime

  • Theft from shed – Edenbridge

    Two childrens’ cycles, a Diamondback and a Saracen (total approximate value £300), were stolen from an insecure shed at an address in Springfield Road, Edenbridge. The theft took place between 7.30pm 21 September – 8.00am 22 September.

    A good quality lock should be fitted to sheds and garages and should be used at all times. If possible chain machines together when they are in the shed or garage. Keep a record of the make, model and serial numbers of equipment and machinery. Shed alarms are available for purchase from Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks police stations.

  • Theft from shed – Edenbridge

    A ride-on Countax lawn (approximate value £3,500), was stolen from an outbuilding at an address in Chiddingstone Hoath, Edenbridge. The theft took place between midnight 19 September – 10.30am 22 September.

  • Theft from car – Edenbridge

    A mobile phone was taken from a green Rover car parked in the car park of the Last Chance Animal centre, Stick Hill, Edenbridge.

    The theft happened between 1.30 – 1.40pm Monday 27 September. A car window was broken to get to the phone.

  • Theft from vehicle – Edenbridge

    A jacket and credit cards were taken from a silver Corolla parked at Godley Stock Road, Crockham Hill, Edenbridge between 12.15 – 1.00pm Monday 28 September. A car window was smashed to get the bag.

  • Appeal for information – Penshurst Place, Tunbridge Wells

    West Kent Police are appealing for information about a sundial stolen from Penshurst Place Gardens sometime between Friday 24 September and 2.00pm Sunday 26 September.

    The demi-lune sundial was located towards the rear of the gardens, a boundary fence has been cut and it is believed a wheelbarrow from the gardens was used to move the object. A vehicle would have been needed to take the sundial away from the gardens.

    The sundial is Italian, made from marble and dates back to 19th century, if not earlier, it is likely to be the only one of its kind in the UK. An approximate value for the piece is £10,000.
