Police have this afternoon arrested a man on suspicion of the murder of teenager Terry Edmonds.
A 21-year-old local man is now being held at a police station in Kent for questioning.
It is the third arrest since Terry’s body was found concealed in a dark green suitcase on Saturday afternoon, near the entrance to Morrison’s car park in Vale Avenue, Tunbridge Wells.
Two other men were arrested at the weekend and later released without charge.
Terry, who was 17, had been strangled. It is also believed she had been sexually assaulted.
Community officers have been distributing posters in the town today as the appeal for information continues.
And a mobile police station has been placed between the lower level of Tunbridge Wells railway station and Morrison’s supermarket. It is open between 8am and 10pm for people to talk to police.
Forensic examinations continued today around the area where Terry’s body was found.
There are now more than 50 officers and staff working on the inquiry.
Police want anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious in the Vale Avenue area or anyone who may have seen Terry on or after Easter Monday, when she was last seen alive, to contact them.
