Criminal damage in Edenbridge
Police are appealing for information about a number of incidents of criminal damage that have occurred in Edenbridge over the weekend, on Saturday evening.
In Hilders Lane some 5 cars had windows smashed during the evening and in Plover Close 7 cars had windows smashed. One of the reports to police said it seemed as if the window had been smashed with a metal bar.
Police received a call shortly before 1.00am on Sunday 12 November saying two people were smashing the windows of the museum in the High Street in Edenbridge. Officers went to the area and arrested an 18 year old man and 15 year old boy both from Edenbridge. The man was later given police bail while further inquiries are carried out and the boy was given a final warning in connection with the damage.
Sgt Steve Lea said: ‘I am very grateful to the member of the public who contacted us about the damage happening at the museum. With this help we were able to get to the area and make two arrests.’
He continued: ‘We are following up on some forensic evidence discovered during inquiries into the car windows being smashed, however, in the meantime I would ask that anyone with information contact police.’
Anyone with any information about these incidents is asked to contact police on 01732 379217 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their name.
