Voluntary groups invited to cash in on grants
Local voluntary and charitable organisations are being invited to apply for grant funding to help them with their work over the next financial year.
Sevenoaks District Council's Community Grant Scheme aims to help local voluntary organisations whose services are available to Sevenoaks District residents, organisations working with young people and new community groups.
In addition, the scheme will this year incorporate the former summer playscheme grants, which make money available specifically for activities for young people over the summer holidays.
Alan Whiting, the Council's Community Planning and Projects officer, says: "Local volunteers and voluntary groups play a role of great importance in the community and make a real difference to the day-to-day lives of the District's most vulnerable people. To make the process of applying for grants easier this year, local groups can request a grant application pack over the phone, by post, e-mail or via the Council's website."
The closing date for applications is 19 November 2004.
For more information and an application pack contact Alan Whiting.
