New cameras provide improved night time surveillance
Sevenoaks District Council has invested in two new CCTV cameras in the High Street in Edenbridge as part of upgrading the system to provide residents with an improved service.
The two replacement 'low light' cameras give significantly improved and better defined night-time images than the cameras they replaced.
A decision was made earlier in the year to invest £65,000 in improving the District's CCTV system, that was identified as needing updating as equipment reached the end of its useful life.
Cllr Keith Loney, Cabinet Member for Community Safety, says: "These new CCTV cameras are great news for residents of the town and will provide us with better images should incidents occur on the High Street."
There are 110 cameras around the district, with the control room manned 24 hours 365 days a year.
