Zombies possess Edenbridge
A scientific experiment goes horribly wrong, infection ravishes the population and zombies roam the earth - for the weekend at least, as a group of young people from Edenbridge shoot a film, that has been written, acted, directed and produced by them, called 'Ressurection'.
The filming is to take place at the Edenbridge Centre on Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August and involves around 10 young people from the area.
Emily Robinson, Cultural Education and Outreach co-ordinator for Sevenoaks District and Kent County Councils, says: "This is a really exciting scheme that has allowed young people in Edenbridge to get involved in interesting projects and fulfil their creative potential. I'm really looking forward to getting the chance to see 'Ressurection' - in the future we may well be hearing a lot more of these talented young individuals. Edenbridge residents shouldn't be alarmed if they see a few zombies roaming the streets in the coming weeks!"
The film is part of a project called 'Blingin', funded by Sevenoaks District Council and Kent County Council, that provides art activities for young people aged 12 to 25, giving them the opportunity to explore art forms of their choice. It runs throughout West Kent and comprises a whole range of workshops and classes on everything from breakdancing to skateboarding.
As part of the 'Blingin' project, another group of young people in Edenbridge have started their own dance company with the help of a professional dancer.
