Over 50 local residents look set to enjoy an afternoon of music and dancing when a tea dance comes to Edenbridge later this week.
The event will be held at Edenbridge Leisure Centre on Wednesday 14 June from 12noon to 2pm, and as well as the tea dance, there will be sandwiches and tea and coffee on offer.
Tickets are available on the day at a cost of £4 per person, which includes refreshments.
Cllr Felicity Broomby, Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for community development, says: “The tea dance promises to be not only a great social event, but also a good way to keep healthy and active. I’d tell anyone interested to get to the Leisure Centre, and get ready for an afternoon of dancing!”
The event is being organised in association with the Edenbridge Older Lifestyles Group. The group is free to join and aims to provide healthy lifestyle information, activities and advice for anyone living in the Edenbridge area over the age of 65.
The Group, which meets every Wednesday at 11.30am in the Edenbridge Centre, Four Elms Road, was set up in March 2005 following recommendations from the Edenbridge Health Needs Assessment. It is a partnership project between South West Kent PCT and Sevenoaks District Council.
