Sevenoaks District Council's latest Statement of Accounts is now available for residents to view.
The statement sets out in detail where the Council spends its annual £16 million budget and where the money comes from.
It can be viewed on the Council's website, www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/finance. Alternatively paper copies are available on request by calling the Council on 01732 227000.
The Council is currently in the process of seeking residents’ views on its budget priorities for the coming year.
The meetings will give residents an opportunity to find out more about the Council's finances and to have their say as part of a discussion group on the Council’s financial priorities.
All residents are welcome to attend and there is no need to book up places in advance.
Residents can still attend the two remaining meetings at:
• New Ash Green – 7pm, Wednesday 11 October 2006, Youth Centre, Ash Road
• Otford – 7pm, Tuesday 17 October 2006, Otford Parish Church Hall, High Street
As part of setting the 2007/08 budget, the Council will also be consulting with its residents' panel, which consists of some 1,000 people who are broadly representative of the District as a whole, town forums in Edenbridge, Sevenoaks and Swanley and via the Council's website nearer the time in November.
Cllr Brian Ramsay, Sevenoaks District Council's Cabinet Member with responsibility for finance, says: "If any local resident wishes to find out more about our finances and influence next year's budget, then they can do so by attending the two remaining budget consultation meetings in New Ash Green and Otford."
