Edenbridge Health Walks
Kent

Edenbridge residents are being given the chance to get fitter on free weekly health walks ran by trained local people.  Anyone who wants to join the walk should meet at 9.15am on a Wednesday outside the main entrance of the Edenbridge Leisure Centre, Stangrove Park ready for a 9.30am start.
The walk takes approximately 45 minutes, all you need is comfortable walking shoes and just turn up to be welcomed by the walk leaders.  All ages and abilities are welcome and everyone is encouraged to walk at their own pace.
The health walks were launched in November 2004 by the local Health Visiting Team and have been so successful that members of local community groups and residents have trained to lead the walks themselves, supported by Sevenoaks District Council and West Kent PCT.

Edenbridge Health Walks

The walks are co-ordinated by local residents who have been trained as part of the national ‘Walking the Way to Health’ initiative.  The walks will finish at the Bridges Centre on the High Street for refreshments.  Walks are suitable for anyone with pushchairs or wheelchairs.
If you are interested in walking, and would like to train as a Health Walk Leader to set up your own walk, please contact Sevenoaks District Council on 01732 227000 for details of the next available free training day.

For further information, contact Sevenoaks District Council on 01732 227000 or email community.development@sevenoaks.gov.uk
