The announcement was made this morning (Wednesday 5th) at a secret location in Edenbridge.
The effigy will be burnt at Saturday's (8th November) celebrations, the celebrity guy is an important part of the celebrations and this years choice seems to be a popular one, with people in the town approving of the choice.
Jean R, who has lived in the town for many years said, 'I think it is a good idea, the choice is very topical.'
Ian B, a lifelong resident was also pleased that Jonathan Ross was to be this years effigy, 'I am pleased that it is Ross, his remarks were over the top and he deserves his fate!'
Sue Laver, Chairman of the Edenbridge Bonfire Society, talking about the choice said, 'It (the choice) was an opportunity that was presented and we felt we had to go with the flow. We did have another choice, but certainly not as topical as this one.'
