Edenbridge Town Band are holding a charity concert for Hospice in the Weald on Saturday 6th December.
The concert which takes place at the W.I. Hall and starts at 7:45pm will raise funds for the pembury based hospice. |

Lucy Gibb, the Honourary secretary of the Town Band said, 'The band felt compelled to support this charity as people from Edenbridge and the local communities do benefit from this very worthwhile organisation which runs solely on donations and provides it's service free of charge. It felt even more apt this year with the recent opening of the Hospice in the Weald shop in Edenbridge High Street.' |

Amanda Wyatt who is responsible for corporate and community fundraising for Hospice in the Weald was very pleased that the town band had chosen the Hospice to support, ‘We are always pleased when the community support us, we have to raise £3.5 million this year so groups like the Edenbridge Town Band holding charity events is very welcome and appreciated.'
Amanda went on to say,
'We receive only 10% of our funding from the NHS, one of the lowest funding levels for hospices in the country. So the community fundraising which takes place is so very important to our work.’ |
| |
The concert will feature a wide range of music and is sure to be a great night out, as well as a fantastic way to raise funds for the hospice.
Lucy Gibb was not giving away the set list for the night, but she did say, 'There will be a complete variety of music at this concert and of course with it being fairly close to Christmas there will be some festive tunes, including carols to get the audience involved, but also music from West End shows, even some from the pop charts. It will be an up beat/feel good concert with music to get people tapping their feet!'
It certainly sounds like a great way to help the Hospice in the Weald!
