Edenbridge House Partnership...Open Day Success!
Kent

The open day provided by the Edenbridge House Partnership, hosted by Peter Nightingale on September 15th, proved a success to those wishing to further their business interests not only locally but further afield.

The open day was also supported by Business Link who volunteered their professional services to all those who attended.

The day's events comprised of network meetings, seminars and topical presentations, all to do with improving each individuals business to a greater extent, with the excellent advice on offer for those who attended, with over 23 individuals in all, who gained valuable business experience.

The theme of the events was very appropriate for the critical financial times that every business and those just starting out in this are certainly facing – “Hard Times - Cutting Costs For Small Businesses”, considering that literally hundreds of large and small companies, businesses and shops go bust every week, it really highlighted the importance of how these special and professional services can help and assist all and every business today, that needs to find the answer to its own financial problems and begin to cut costs and improve their sales.

Below is a summary and some of the important presentations that were given during the open day -

“Low costs for running small offices using the latest technology was the theme of the EHP Open Day. More than 23 people attended , some spending over 9 hours at the presentations as they learned to advantage of new skills to build their businesses whilst keeping office costs low and reducing their Carbon Footprint by only travelling when they had to.

Seminars given by EHP included how to push websites to the highest Google ratings , using Search Engine Optimisation with specialist advisor's or taking advantage of Facebook , Twitter and Blogs at no direct costs. These techniques were shown as ways to get your website onto page 1 of Google searches.

Small companies can also use business coaching methods to focus on how to support them in ways to grow turnover and profit. EHP are looking to work to the next event at our building as a free day event with Action Coaching which will demonstrate how their attention keeps you working to your business.

EHP is also targeting how to cut energy costs in our building , which will reduce overheads for the small offices we have to offer to local people. But one of our tenants, Accord Consulting , managed to show in their seminar how small , medium and larger businesses could make substantial savings in computer systems and energy uses by switching to Cloud Computing. This is the sharp point of new technology and works with people using virtual servers which are the latest low energy equipment that is available.

Taking advantage of the new ideas, EHP is offering novel ways to offer offices to small companies using office support at home –Virtual offices – or letting desks and a technology package to people who are prepared to take a single desk in a small office with 3 or 4 users – Office Share - at a fixed cost, but available at any time of the day or night. Our ground floor meeting room, which opens onto our garden , will be available for IT training or use for business coaching or other presentations.

People who work with Virtual Offices can also use temporary desk space by taking our Hot Desk by the hour or day when they might need to work away from home.

All the seminars made during the day were broadcast whilst they were live, and are recorded and can be viewed Click here to link.

EHP are keen to pass the techniques to other users and will be pleased to show people how to work with video-conferencing, video-email, hosted Microsoft applications and virtual telephone switchboards as well as a range of other technologies we have developed for small business use .”

Without doubt the many that attended left the day's seminar with new thoughts and ideas about securing their own businesses during these difficult financial times, and that they will certainly be heeding the sought after advice learnt from the proceedings at the Edenbridge House Partnership.
