Many residents from the two estates got together with friends and family at the Royal British Legion Saturday night, there to celebrate not only Remembrance Day but to have a disco party.
Those present watched the DVD that was taken when the two estates got together for that wonderful sing along reunion that was held at Doggetts Barn some weeks ago, when the Pearly King and Queen gave everyone a great evening with some of the old favourite songs from the “good old days” in London, as well as everyone tucking in to a special pie & mash and jellied eel's dinner.
Disco “Dave” set the mood with some of the most fantastic sounds from the 50's and 60's, where all those in a dancing mood were up on the floor shaking the evening away, and singing along to all the old favourite songs from the era.
The raffle held had a great selection of prizes, and later in the evening when the numbers were called out, there was shouts, cheers and clapping when the winners came up to get their bottles of drink and prizes.
It was a great evening out for all those who supported it, as they all had a wonderful time.
Many grateful thanks go to the organisers of the event ; Alison Boylan and Audrey Batchelor, and The Royal British Legion for the use of their hall and bar.
