| It has been a full two weeks of fun packed enjoyment, pleasure and events, with art displays, live music - with jazz, rock and folk bands playing at different venues, book fairs, barbecues, karaoke, a folk ale festival, countryside walks, concerts, and events at the town museum...in fact everything for everyone to enjoy.
It came to a grand finale today in the grounds of Edenbridge Hospital, at Mill Hill, where the League of Friends annual fete was held, crowds in their hundreds flocked to participate and enjoy the many different stalls that were on display there.
While the crowds carried on with the festivities, melodic sounds echoed around the grounds as the Edenbridge Town Band gave an excellent display of their music talents, bringing great pleasure to all those attending the festival.
There were stalls of every description within the hospital grounds, bringing delight to the many children and parents who came to support this worthy cause.
Local residents had stalls selling their own home produced cakes and jams, many finding it hard to resist and buying the delicacies on sale.
Using her professional skills, a local lady was face painting, not only children but also the parents willingly sat down and had delightfully coloured paints applied to their faces to look like cats with whiskers.
The Edenbridge Rotary Club had a hoop-la stall with many interesting prizes to be won, looking easy, many threw the hoops trying to win the coveted prize, but lost in frustration, others came away smiling having won the prize they wanted.
The belly dancing girls gave a superb display of their talents to the amazed onlookers, who wished they had the agility to dance like them. |
