Local man Reg Marchant is preparing to embark on a lifetime adventure on his mobility scooter, this epic journey will take him on a 5, 500 mile trip around the coast of Britain, all in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the British Polio Fellowship.......... Click HERE
The plan for Scoot4Life is for me to visit as many lifeboat stations as I can on the mainland of the UK with the use of my mobility scooter. The trip itself will cover approximately 5,500 miles and will take around 6 months to complete. I will start my journey from RNLI Headquarters in Poole, Dorset in April 2010. I hope to be supported by a small team of 3 - 5 people.
Through sponsorship of my trip, I hope to raise some much-needed funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. And as a keen amateur photographer, I also plan to take many photographs of the beautiful countryside and coastline that surrounds the UK. I then hope to turn a selection of these photographs in to a calendar for the British Polio Fellowship to sell and raise further funds for this charity. I have had the idea for this project for around 8 years now, but as I am reaching my 65th Birthday
I am able to put all of my efforts into making this trip a reality and hopefully assisting two magnificent national charities along the way.
am now seeking companies and individuals who may want to sponsor the project. If you are in anyway interested in helping, please see the 'SPONSORSHIP' page of this site on how to do so. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated..... Click Here for web site
