Saturday saw the vehicle spectacular get under way with every vintage machine you could wish to see and admire, fire-engines, tractors, motor-bikes, delivery vans, steam engines, military trucks, H.G.V lorries, family cars, down to famous old bicycles from days long gone.
There were the old favourite steam engines, onlookers young and old took extreme delight as these monsters were started-up, their massive boilers hissing steam, and huge puffs of smoke from these magnificent iron horses blasted into the sky from their tall chimneys.
Plodding along at a snails pace these iron beasts gave an excellent display by their owners of just how cumbersome but fantastic they were to see in action, as they headed for the exhibition ring.
Some of the highlights were to see just how small some of these steam engines were, their dedicated owners driving them round the grounds for everyone to marvel at.
For the motor-cycle enthusiasts that visited the exhibition, there was some of the greatest bikes there to see, from the very early days of the single cylinder, belt drive of the early 1900's, to the cafe racers of the 50's and 60's, to the modern days high speed bikes.
The military vehicle display had a selection of WW2 jeeps, army trucks and a bren-gun carrier, which gave many visitors to the stand, an insight into these machines of warfare.
Tractors were lined up by the dozens, from the vintage to the modern, the old ones clearly spectacular in their own way. Many people were grouped around them discussing the days when they used to drive them, chatting about when the horse and plough finally came to an end, and these new machines took over.
Many stands were there selling all kinds of articles from vintage vehicle parts, for those who are still dedicated to restoring these old fantastic machines, to tools, leather clothing and antique household items.
As the sun came out on Sunday, more people flocked into the grounds at Gabriels to see the fantastic and spectacular show that the... Southern Counties Historic Vehicle Preservation Trust (S.C.H.V.P.T.) had put on.
If you missed the show, then be sure to make it a date for the next time that this magnificent display is on.
