Many are very good with children their qualities are always needed, or they can use their knowledge and abilities and assist in a team project working with others, if animals are your interest then there could be a place for you, elderly people have many needs and those who can help these ones in the community would be greatly appreciated.
There are many people out there that do need you time, skills and assistance, if you want to “test out” your volunteering capabilities as your time is limited then perhaps a one-off opportunity would be more to your liking, to see how you get on and if you can devote more time later on then you will always be welcome.
Whether you are able to devote a fair amount of your time or just a few hours, any amount is always appreciated, it will also make a great difference in the community, you will receive the benefits and pleasure in the time that you have contributed in giving your help to others.
There are other rewards to, you make new friends, build trust and confidence in yourself and those you help, you can also develop new interests and a career that could well give you a new lease of life.
