Edenbridge Beaufighter Crash....Museum Talk
Kent

The Eden Valley Museum is proud to present a talk about the Bristol Beaufighter crash that occured nearly 70 years ago during WW2 by the river in Church street.

The title of the talk given by local expert John Froud - Out of the Sky - is associated soley with the crash which happened on Wednesday 13 November 1940, which will give this talk a sad reminder to those who witnessed it, as it happened 70 years ago to the day.

The crew of two who were both killed in the crash were Pilot Officer Thomas Birkett  and Sergeant  Colin Ewart Patrick Castle, both from 219 Squadron based at Redhill Aerodrome.

There will be displays of items, including parts from the Beaufighter taken from the crash scene and on display in the Museum.

The talk is part of an open evening event and will be held at - The Eden Valley Museum on Friday 12 November  at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £3 (and £2.50 for members of the EVMT) and can be purchsed from Edenbridge Bookshop in the Square or in the Museum on the door.

Light refreshments are available.

For all those interested in the history of Edenbridge and in the war years are welcome to come along and hear this excellent talk by John Froud.
