Rotary Club Event

The Edenbridge Rotary Club are planning a great event in the town this year, after a long three year gap, plans are well under way in getting the event into operation to make it a spectacular success for everyone.

For in the last couple of years, with the events all ready to take place, on it's usual date of May Day Bank Holiday, disaster struck due to the typical English weather with high winds and severe rainstorms...creating the event a sad wash-out for all those who had put so much time and effort into this superb locally recognised occassion.

Now the organisers have decided to move ahead with their plans, they are not only determined to make it a huge success but have decided to move it to Saturday, June 5th, which is hoped to give them some good weather, in bringing the sun and the crowds out to enjoy the event.

The Edenbridge Rotary Club Service Above Self

The Rotary Club have even taken made alternative plans to make certain that it goes ahead without any problems, even if the weather is against them.

With last years exciting and excellent "Eden Valley Festival" taking place, which made a huge enjoyable impact on the visitors and in the surrounding areas, with so many activities going on, this will also be a memorable time to get out and enjoy the festival and all that it has to offer.

With an exciting start to begin the festival, with the main theme being one of "music and dance" it will be centered around  a massive stage, so that everyone can get close to the fun-filled mood of the day.

At 11am, the very popular Edenbridge Town Band will start the event with their own distinguished style of great musical sounds, accompanied by the famous antiques expert...Catherine Southon, who will offically open the festival at 12 noon.

The afternoon will be filled with many events full of entertainment to suit everyones tastes...Belly Dancing, Pop Duo Serena & Vicky will entertain the crowds, and Russell Barrow will be playing some excellent folk and rock music, also dozens of stalls with their own displays will be there to visit, supporting local trades and organisations.

There will be many free rides for children...Kiddie Karts, Swing Boats and a Land Train to ride on, the local the Edenbridge Strollers will be encouraging all those who love to walk, follow in an exciting adventure walk through Edenbridge and the surrounding area.

Other events that are hoped to attract many are a Dog Show, a Photographic Competition, a Climbing Tower and a special Circus Skills event, also something for the teenagers is in the planning so that the Rotary Clubs Event will cater for all ages.

Although in its early stages of planning, the festival commitee chairman Mr Jim Burbridge is looking for many other stalls and acts that can make this day a great event for the town.

So if you want to take part, have a band, or can sing and dance, have a stall where you can offer home-grown or organic products, locally made chutney's, jam's, sauces, honey, sweets or treats, or want to display your wares with something completely different.

Then please give Jim Burbridge a call on...

Although the venue is yet to be confirmed, please be assured that it will be a "Great Day Out" for everyone  who comes to visit...The Edenbridge Rotary Clubs 2010 Festival...!!!
