Eden Valley...Summer Festival...!!!
28th May to June 12th - 2011

Thursday 9th June: Festival Heritage Evening in the Sunderland Room, Penshurst Place 7.00pm. Two eminent speakers describe Life in the Medieval Weald. In aid of Macmillan Nurses and Hospice in the Weald. Organised by Edenbridge & District Historical Society. Tickets £12 (adults) £6 (children/concessions) £10 for members of EDHS or Museum Trust – from Edenbridge Bookshop or 01892 870396.  Includes coffee or tea.

 

Saturday 11th June **FREE OPEN AIR JAZZ CONCERT AND PICNIC**    6 - 9pm at Lingfield Road Recreation Ground.

The Eden Valley Summer Festival winds down with an early evening concert by Doctor Jazz, Kent’s leading swinging Trad/Dixieland Band.

Also featuring the Dollie Bergere cabaret and a SOLAR VIEWING event with Edenbridge & District Astonomers (look for the EDA gazebo!).

Bring your own picnic / chairs / rug. Bar available in the sports pavilion.

History and Heritage

Exhibitions continue in the Eden Valley Museum.

Sat 11th June at 2pm: History Walk around the historic centre of Edenbridge *FREE* starting from Eden Valley Museum:

Sun 12th June: Bolebroke Vintage Bus Tour  - departs at 10.45 and 1pm from Edenbridge Town Station, for a ride through country lanes to Bolebroke Castle. Returns at 12.30pm and 3pm. Call 01892 770061 to book. Bus FREE; Castle Tour £5.50 / £5.00/£2.50;

Train rides: £4.00 / £2.50.

 

Music

 

Tues 7th June: Lunchtime folk session at Bridges with ‘Morris’s Friends’ 12-2pm *FREE*  (Lunches available).

Fri 10th June from 8pm: An evening of *FREE* folk music at Haywards Cafe Bistro with ‘Round House Folk’. Licensed bar and light refreshments available.
