One fraud occurred in Leigh, near Tonbridge between 28 October to 2 November and another at a property in Ide Hill, Edenbridge between 2 and 3 November where mobile phones were intercepted in both cases.
Investigating officer PC Nick Finnis comments: “I would remind people to shred any personal documents with your name and address on, before disposing of them. Another way to combat identity theft is by using only approved and secure internet sites which have a padlock in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, when giving bank details, indicating that personal information can be given securely. I would also urge people to be vigilant of suspicious behaviour.
Should you witness anyone waiting around outside an address, for a significant time period without apparent reason please contact the police to report it on 01622 690690.”
