Local Edenbridge man Reg Marchant, who travelled over 5, 500 miles around the coast of Britain on his Mobility Scooter visiting every RNLI lifeboat station possible, handed a cheque over for more than £5, 000 at the Hastings Lifeboat station on Saturday, January7th.
Reg, seen here with his wife Brenda handing over this fantastic amount to Lou Purdy who is the RNLI Community Fundraising Manager, along with some of the crew and coxswain of the Hastings Lifeboat, who were sincerely impressed with the journey Reg had made especially on his mobility scooter driving at 4mph all around the coast last year!
The “Journey of a Lifetime” for Reg is now over, and his dreams fulfilled in accomplishing this fantastic but very hard trip, but his memories of it all with his wife, crew and supporters will be remembered for many years to come.
Reg Marchant is our - Local Hero - and we are all proud of him in Edenbridge...Well Done Reg!
