Edenbridge welcomes the Bishop of Rochester

The Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Revd James Langstaff, will be touring the local Deanery at the beginning of December, culminating in a special carol service at the Church of St Peter & St Paul in Edenbridge on the evening of Sunday 8 December at 6.30pm.

The Deanery Advent Carol Service will include a sermon from Bishop James while a number of choirs from local churches will be joining choir of St Peter & St Paul. With up to 50 choir members singing it is expected to be a vibrant start to the Christmas period.

“I am much looking forward to the Deanery Advent Carol Service as we come together to sing to God in anticipation of God’s coming among us in the person of Jesus Christ,” said Bishop James.
“I have always enjoyed it when a Deanery Visit has included a service such as this when singers from different parishes join together to make music, and I am sure that the service will be another such uplifting occasion.”

It will be a busy week for Bishop James who will be attending Christingle services in Tudeley and Chiddingstone, leading Deanery Prayers at St Stephen’s in Tonbridge, visiting the Kent Debt Advice Centre, a number of schools and the hospice at Pembury.

On the Saturday 7 December he will be at Crockham Hill to host a Question & Answer session.
