Floods at wildlife Centre |

Due to the recent unforseen flash floods, the Bough-Beech Wildlife Centre and Nature Reserve, a Kent Wildlife Trust spokesman who runs it explained that due to the flooding of the interior and it’s contents which have been severely damaged by the water, that the official 2009 opening on Saturday March 21st, will remain closed to the public until further notice.

Hospice Receives Town Band Cash |

The local Edenbridge Town Band held a Charity Concert at the W.I. Hall before Christmas in aid of the Hospice in the Weald. They were all extremely delighted at the evening’s event and having raised a good amount of £180 for the local charity, of which will assist the local Hospice in their excellent money raising efforts to help those in residence there.
The Edenbridge Town Band are planning future fund raising events which will be held during the year. Please come along and hear the superb music being played, and give Your support to their very worthy causes. |

After an intensive 12 month Police investigation by the Serious and Organized Crime Unit (SOCU) on organized crime and gangs operating in North and West Kent, South London, Edenbridge and Sevenoaks. Police officers and special squads raided homes across the region and swooped on possible suspects last week in a series of dawn raids, which resulted in 13 arrests.

Local charity worker Helen Vicary is preparing to set off on her own version of the Tour de France. Helen, who is the day centre manager for Age Concern in Edenbridge, will be cycling a route known as ‘The Way of St Martins’, which follows the Loire River in France. The route covers a distance of 1300 kilometres and passes through some beautiful French scenery. Why is Helen cycling this route you may ask, well it is simple, she is raising money for Age Concern Sevenoaks as part of the charity’s diamond jubilee celebrations.

The market, held in the Market Yard car park has always been the most popular place to stock up on local meat and fish as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.
