Following the great turnout last time, another tea dance is waltzing back into town next month.
The event offers residents the chance to enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing and socialising, but this time, there’s a festive twist!
Since the trial in June 2006, four dances have already been held in the town, with over 250 people attending. The cabinet member with responsibility for healthy living Cllr Felicity Broomby said: ‘Having been along to these tea dances before I know there are two things you can guarantee, one, you will have great time, and two, it is sure to be very popular!’

The dances are organised by Sevenoaks District council, Sencio Community Leisure and West Kent PCT, and are just one of the many lifestyle initiatives being set up in the town. The aim of the events, other than providing the opportunity to have a great time, is to get as many people as possible involved in community events with a view to reducing isolation as well as providing a fun way for people to remain fit and active within their community.
Cllr Broomby said: ‘The festive season may seem a way off yet, but I really would urge anyone who is interested in coming along to get a ticket fast before they sell out!’
The event is being held on Wednesday 28 November at Edenbridge Leisure Centre from 12noon to 2pm. Tickets cost £4 per person, which includes tea, coffee, sandwiches and mince pies, and are available from the Leisure Centre.
