This feature-length documentary film follows groups of scientists through endless spring and summer days on the frozen continent as they research climate change. It explores what dreams drove these scientists to the bottom of the world in the first place, and what “bit of ice in the head” keeps them working there.
The film will be directed by Emmy-award winning director Anne Aghion and will be ready for broadcast during the International Polar Year.

Welcome to LivingAntarctica.org
No one gets to the Antarctic by accident. Conjured out of dreams as a place of the imagination, Antarctica is only arrived at by will - and with what a friend calls “a bit of ice in the head.” So how does the reality measure up to the dream?
Living Antarctica Film Crew
We are a small filmmaking crew that will be spending an extended period of time with a hardy band of scientists who go back to Antarctica year after year to research climate change.
The film will be about the extraordinary human adventure of conducting science at the bottom of the world.
